This case is dated July 29th 1887 in the handwriting of TE Gunn, depicting where and by whom the birds were obtained.Many Victorian taxidermist did employ "bird catchers" and the above are an example of this profession.

Allder of Newbury. There appears to have been a few Naturalists by the name of Allder working in Newbury. Cosburn's Directory dated 1894 lists R Allder at 3 Bartholomew Street Newbury who had a medal awarded in 1884.

Early example of a James Hutchings Trade Label, only placed on the inside of Hutchings cases that they felt were worthy of the name. Also placed within the case in such a manner as not to detract from the subject matter. This label is hidden on the front internal support and hardly noticable.

Originally located in the home of Sir Jonathan Hutchinson's home about a mile outside Haslemere in Surrey the museum was one of the first private museums described as having ' the special object of enabling the unlearned to acquire information easily'.
Chalres H Eldon. Charles H. Eldon worked in the Pennsylvania area possibly as early as the late 1800's. His studio was located at 331 West Fourth Street, Williamsport, Pennsylvania
